In 2012, I launched blu20 in Fayetteville, AR, before moving it to Joplin, MO, after selling my shares of Torque Dealer Solutions and marrying my wife. What started as a one-man shop quickly grew into one of the Midwest’s first true data-driven ad agencies, specializing in branding, websites, apps, software, digital advertising, and SEO. About two and a half years in, we became the go-to agency for local favorites and national brands like Walmart and Tamko. Pretty cool.

Eventually, I sold the agency to Innovative Objects, a parent company assembling tech companies under one umbrella, with blu20 as the perfect fit. One of my agencies, Torque Dealer Solutions, began as a marketing and SEO company for auto dealers but quickly evolved into a software business. We developed a video SEO platform during the Google optimization boom, growing to serve over 30 dealerships and three large dealer groups on monthly subscriptions. The platform’s success transformed Torque into a leading solution for the auto industry, ultimately leading to the company’s sale after significant scaling.
